SAIYAN SAGA
The Saiyans have come. Can the earth survive?
The Saiyans are a savage, warrior race where victory in battle is the only virtue. After centuries of ruthless, high-energy warfare, their planet was destroyed in a giant blast, dooming the race forever.
Or did it?
A few Saiyans did survive the blast. Goku, a Saiyan child, was sent to earth by his father to grow up and conquer the earth. His father programmed his son's brain to train him to become the savage warrior he aspired him to be. But fortunately, fate had other plans. Goku suffers a near fatal head injury as a child, scrambling the programming and leaving Goku with the greatest of all treasures - a pure heart.
Other Saiyans also survived, like Goku's brother Raditz who journeyed to earth after his planet's destruction in hopes of finding his brother. Expecting to find destruction everywhere, and a Saiyan reigning as lord and master of earth, Raditz is disgusted to find the planet intact, and a brother who is weak and pitiful by Saiyan standards. Raditz gives Goku an ultimatum - destroy earth or die! Goku refuses and Raditz easily incapacitates Goku with one strike, and kidnaps Gohan (Goku's son) thinking he can mend the childs twisted thinking and convert him into becoming a true Saiyan.
Can Anyone Defeat Raditz?
Goku is baffled at what to do when the unthinkable happens. Goku's arch enemy, Piccolo, appears and offers to join forces with Goku to fight for the safety of earth.
In the fiercest battle ever seen to date, our heroes use every technique they know against the mighty Raditz. Piccolo hurls his energy blast. Goku harnesses the power of light and releases the renown Kamehameha energy blast. But Raditz stops all these mountain toppling blasts with his bare hands!
Raditz is unstoppable. But at the point of Piccolo's certain doom Raditz's power vanishes! Goku has grabbed Raditz's only weak point -- his tail. Goku tells Piccolo to fire his blast again and finish off Raditz.
Knowing that he has been defeated, Raditz exploits Goku's goodness. Raditz declares a change of heart and a desire to reform. Piccolo warns vehemently that it's a trick, but Goku believes Raditz and lets go of his tail. Raditz's power immediately returns, and he turns on his brother Goku.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
As all is surely lost, Gohan arrives after breaking free of the space capsule where Raditz imprisoned him. With remarkable courage, Gohan powers up and blasts Raditz with everything he has. Raditz is hit hard, allowing Goku to grab Raditz in a bear hug. This gives Piccolo enough time to summon an extra powerful blast to finish off Raditz.
The only problem is that Goku will perish with Raditz since Piccolo's blast will hit both of them, but Goku urges Piccolo to fire anyway -- it's earth's only hope.
Raditz meets his end, as does Goku. But as Raditz is passing on, he reveals terrible news. Two more Saiyan warriors, even greater than Raditz will arrive in one year. Earth is their next target for death and mass destruction. And Goku is…gone?
Can Earth Prepare for More Saiyans?
The remaining Z Warriors disperse in a frantic attempt to prepare for the coming Saiyans. Some try to collect the seven Dragon Balls to revive Goku. Piccolo takes Gohan to a deserted wasteland to develop the incredible potential Gohan has within.
As for Goku, he's in the Other World where he has the chance to receive superior instruction from King Kai, in the hope of being brought back to earth via the Dragon Balls to fight the coming Saiyans. But King Kai doesn't train just anyone. Goku must prove he is worthy of instruction. First he is instructed to catch Kai's pet, Bubbles -- no easy task since the Other World has 10 times earth's gravity and Bubbles is fast! Next, Goku must chase Gregory, a fast, insect-like creature and try to swat him with a huge sledgehammer. Kai is pleased that Goku is such an excellent student and proceeds to teach him the legendary Kai techniques. So intent are they on the training, they forget that it will take Goku two whole days to run back down Snake Way to the real world. He is going to be late for the fight of the century!
Nappa and Vegeta have Landed
As the sky darkens, the two Saiyans make their approach. Nappa and Vegeta take a reading on the planet's warriors and scoff at the weak power ratings that register on their Scouters. They plant six seeds which quickly grow into Saibaimen and order them to attack.
Krillin, Piccolo, Tien, Gohan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha prepare to defend earth against the Saibaimen. The ensuing battle destroys Yamcha, but the two sides seem evenly matched. Vegeta grows bored and kills the remaining Cybermen, and then instructs Nappa to attack the others.
Our heroes attack with massive energy beams that have no effect. In desperation, Chiaotzu initiates a suicide attack in hopes of destroying Nappa, but Nappa is barely affected by the explosive attack. Piccolo devises a plan which requires Gohan to harness the power of light which lies deep within Gohan for a single blast. But at the crucial moment, Gohan loses his nerve and lets the Z Warriors down. Nappa attacks Gohan, but Piccolo leaps in front of Nappa's energy beam to save Gohan's life sacrificing himself. Nappa decides he's had enough fun and goes in for the end. Just as things turn grim for our remaining heroes, Goku sweeps in to rescue Gohan.
The Saiyans can't believe it, Goku has a power level of 5000! Everyone is awed by Goku's power and a critical battle begins between Goku and Nappa. Goku is so fast he can't even be seen! Goku unleashes the Kaio-ken maneuver and defeats Nappa. Vegeta is enraged by Nappa's loss, and mercilessly destroys him for his failure to defeat Goku.
The battle moves to another location as Goku and Vegeta face off. Soon, the greatest battle on earth resonates across the countryside. Each opponent powers up to levels higher than each can imagine, but Vegeta gains the upper hand. As Goku is about to be defeated, Krillin and Gohan arrive and distract Vegeta, giving Goku enough time to take the last energy remaining in him and transfer it to Krillin who, along with Gohan's help, uses it to smash Vegeta. Vegeta is badly damaged but manages to escape in his space

The story unfolds as Raditz, a Saiyan who reveals that he is Goku's older brother arrives and interrupts the great peace. The ensuing battle moves mountains, uproots river and even changes the Earth's weather patterns.
In the end, Goku sacrifices his own life to ensure the end of Raditz and the safety of Earth. But before Raditz passes on, he reveals that a force of even more powerful Saiyans are coming to Earth.
So now, friends, allies and former enemies must band together to prepare for the invasion. Their best hope rests in their quest to gather the Dragon Balls and wish Goku, the only one even remotely powerful enough to stand against the mighty Saiyans, back to life...if they have enough time. That's all that's standing between the Saiyans and the Earth's total destruction.

FREEZA SAGA
The Race for the Namek Dragon Balls
As Goku is rushed to a hospital, it's revealed that the Dragon Balls on earth are now inert due to Piccolo's demise. The only hope to bring back the dead heroes is to fly to Planet Namek for the original Dragon Balls.
Headstrong and technically-talented as always, Bulma rushes forward, devising a way to use an ultra-fast space craft to reach Namek. Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan are off to Planet Namek.
But they are not the only ones after the Dragon Balls. Vegeta returns to Frieza Planet #79 to regenerate himself using a special medical tank. He discovers that his arch enemy, Frieza, has already left for Namek after the Dragon Balls. Vegeta rushes off to Namek to find the Dragon Balls for himself in a bid to gain immortality.
Soon, Vegeta, Frieza and our heroes all arive on Namek in search for the seven Dragon Balls. There is one Dragon Ball per Namekian village, each ball protected by the village Elder. Frieza unleashes an entourage of monster minions which terrorize the villages, eventually gaining four Dragon Balls.
Can Krillin and Gohan Stop Such Evil Power?
Gohan and Krillin rush to the fifth Namekian village but they are too late - Frieza is already there. But the Fighting Namek appear, beating Frieza's minions.
Frieza steps into the battle and is overpowering. Gohan, unable to watch the slaughter, suddenly rushes into the battle in a fit of rage. Fortunately, Krillin gets himself and Gohan of the bind by using the blinding flash maneuver allowing them to escape.
Vegeta's Plight
Meanwhile, Vegeta is also acquiring Dragon Balls. He is now stronger after his near death injuries on earth. Saiyans have the unusual property of reaching higher power levels as they heal from injury.
After Vegeta discovers that his home planet was not destroyed by a meteor, but by Frieza, who thought the Saiyans were getting to "uppity", Vegeta is really angry. He takes off after Frieza. But Vegeta runs into Zarbon, another Frieza minion. In this battle, Vegeta is nearly killed as Zarbon uses his shape-shifting capabilities. Vegeta is taken prisoner by Zarbon and brought before Frieza.
Mystery of the Dragon Balls Revealed by Saichoru
Frieza has decided to summon the Ginyu Force to help search the planet for the Dragon Balls. They will arrive in five days. Krillin and Gohan locate Guru's house. Guru is the Supreme Elder of Namek and is very old and close to death. He is linked to the mysterious Dragon Balls, and if he dies, the Namek Dragon Balls will become inert.
Guru lays hands on Krillin, realizes that he has a good heart and decides to give his Dragon Ball to Krillin for safe keeping. Then the Elder gives both Krillin and Gohan a magical powder which gives them extra power. They are all still waiting for Goku's arrival in a few days.
Vegeta Confronts Krillin for the 6th Dragon Ball
Vegeta discovers Krillin and Bulma and realizes they have a Dragon Ball. Vegeta promises to spare their lives for the ball. Krillin reluctantly hands over the ball in order to save Bulma's life.
Suddenly, Zarbon, Frieza's minion, arrives and shape-shifts into a monster and battles Vegeta. Vegeta's previous battle has made him stronger allowing him to defeat Zarbon. Vegeta takes Krillin's Dragon Ball and flies off, surprisingly keeping his promise not to kill Krillin and Bulma.
One More Ball and Vegeta Can Gain Immortality
Meanwhile, Gohan has found the last of the seven Dragon Balls in the rubble of a Namekian village previously destroyed by Frieza. Vegeta finds Gohan, but decides not to kill him since he is one of the last remaining Saiyans in the universe. Is Vegeta softening a bit - maybe not. Fortunately, Vegeta did not know Gohan has the last Dragon Ball.
Frieza Gains all Seven Dragon Balls
The fabled Ginyu Force arrive. Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan realize they have to cooperate in order to defeat the Ginyu Force. A major battle erupts and the Ginyu fighter Recoome sends Vegeta flying with the Recoome Kick. Next Recoome's Eraser Gun almost kills Vegeta. Recoome is enjoying the battle immensely.
The Ginyu take the Dragon Balls from our heroes giving Frieza all seven Dragon Balls. But Frieza can't seem to conjure up the Eternal Dragon. He realizes that he doesn't know the password so he rushes off to find the Namek Elder, Guru, leaving the Dragon Balls with the Ginyu Force.
Goku To The Rescue, But Is He In Time?
At the battle field, Gohan and Vegeta are in bad shape and Recoome is gloating. But Goku has finally landed! He gives his last three senzu beans, beans with miraculous healing capabilities, to Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta. Vegeta realizes suddenly that Goku has become a Super Saiyan -- the last known person to reach this level occurred 1000 years ago! Goku uses his new strength to smash the Ginyu as Vegeta looks in awe at seeing a Super Saiyan in action.
During the battle with Captain Ginyu, Captain Ginyu reveals an uncanny attack -- he focuses an energy beam at Goku and yells "Change" and changes bodies with him! Captain Ginyu uses this technique to fight with Goku's powerful body. Fortunately, Captain Ginyu doesn't know how to use the special Kai techniques to power up in his new body, and can't get above a power rating of 23,000. Our heroes out-fight Captain Ginyu in Goku's body, so Captain Ginyu yells "Change" to switch bodies with Vegeta. Goku sees what is happening, intercepts the blast and gets his old body back. Vegeta and the others are confused at what's going on. Captain Ginyu, takes this opportunity to make another attempt at body switching with Vegeta. Captain Ginyu yells "Change" and shoots at Vegeta. But just then, Goku throws a frog into the wake, and Captain Ginyu gets switched with a frog's body. Captain Ginyu is now imprisoned, because as a frog he can't shout the command "Change".
An uneasy alliance now forms between Goku and Vegeta as they realize that they must defeat Frieza, and they need each other's help. Goku is hurt badly, and is put in the spaceship's medical tank to recover.
Will Frieza Discover the Secret Command?
Meanwhile, Frieza arrives at Guru's house to demand the secret password to conjure the Eternal Dragon. A Namekian called Nail, gallantly defends the Elder, but Frieza is at power level 530,000 and Nail can only reach 45,000. When Frieza is ready to kill Nail he learns that he is wasting his time since Dende, a Namekian child who has joined Gohan, is the only one who knows the secret command to summon the Eternal Dragon.
The Eternal Dragon is Summoned
Since the Ginyu Force is defeated, and our heroes are in possession of all seven Dragon Balls, Dende calls forth the Eternal Dragon. The Dragon asks for the three wishes -- on Namek you get three wishes not just one as on earth. Since the Dragon can only revive one person at a time, they bring back Kami so that the earth's Dragon Balls will function again. Second, they revive Piccolo asking that he appear on Namek - to obtain his fighting ability to beat Frieza. Vegeta insists the third wish should be to make him immortal, because that is the only way to beat Frieza. Krillin is hesitant and does not know what to do. Must he give the evil Vegeta immortality in order to stop the wicked Frieza? As he deliberates, Guru dies of old age, and the link is broken as the Dragon disappears and the Dragon Balls become inert.
Frieza: Back Again -- and Angry
Frieza, the revived Piccolo and Nail all arrive on the scene. Frieza is angry -- his wish for immortality dashed. Piccolo and Nail combine their bodies to create a superior fighting warrior.
Now Frieza powers up to a 1,000,000! The Z Warriors escape his first blast with some scratches and the loss of one mountain. Then Frieza goes after Gohan, and is moving so fast Gohan can't follow him and hurts Gohan badly. Frieza now taunts the others. Piccolo and Vegeta then join the battle. Piccolo, after revival, has significantly increased his power through training with King Kai in the Other World. Suddenly a tremendous power level is detected . . . Gohan? Gifted Namekians have healing abilities, and Dende uses his powers to heal the battered Gohan. Everyone realizes how strong the power of light is within Gohan, and that he has potential to become a Super Saiyan.
Frieza Goes Another Level Up
The battle seems to favor our heroes until Frieza moves to a whole new power level!
Dende is frantically healing our heroes until Frieza realizes what's going on, and blasts Dende with an energy pulse. There will be no more miraculous healing now.
Meanwhile, Goku emerges from the medical tank. He arrives at the battle just in time to save Gohan. Vegeta is down and weakened. Frieza finishes off Vegeta and fires at Goku who deflects the blast. Frieza is astonished and realizes that Goku is indeed a Super Saiyan.
The final battle begins. Goku fires a major energy blast straight at Frieza. The mountain behind Frieza is gone, but Frieza remains.
Power levels have reached such a height that the whole planet shakes from the battle.
Frieza is having fun facing a worthy opponent -- and challenges Goku to a little hand-to-hand combat. Goku decides he must concentrate and summon a great energy ball to fire at Frieza. There is a blinding flash as bright as 1000 suns and Frieza is no more.
Our heroes rejoice.
Then suddenly a blast of energy blows through Piccolo. It's Frieza, and he's alive. Krillin is next and he is instantly hit by another blast.
5 Minutes Until Namek Destructs
Frieza is fed up with all of these warriors and decides to eradicate the entire planet. But due to his weakened state, his energy bomb will take five minutes to absorb enough power for detonation.
This gives Goku a chance to clear his comrades off Namek, but he insists on remaining to finish off Frieza.
Another battle erupts but time is running out. Frieza fires his lethal energy disks and believes he has killed Goku, but Goku has used his one-image technique (moving so fast that an after image remains in the previous location while Goku has moved). Frieza fires two more Energy Disks that chase after Goku. As they close in on Goku, he flies straight toward Frieza and creates a blast which kicks up tons of dirt and debris. Frieza is temporarily blinded and moves out of the way of one energy disk, directly into the path of the other.
Has Goku Escaped?
With Frieza gone, Goku must leave in a hurry before the Energy bomb destroys the planet. With less than a minute left, he jumps into the last remaining space capsule but it's jammed in a crevice. The Energy Bomb and Namek explode.
Goku's friends can't find the planet or Goku. Where is he? Was Goku destroyed along with the Planet Namek?

TRUNKS SAGA
The evil Frieza survived the demise of Planet Namek. He was rebuilt with cybernetic parts making him even more powerful than before. Bent on revenge, he and his father King Cold come to destroy Earth and Goku.
Earth's heroes (except Goku who still has not arrived following the destruction of Planet Namek), assemble to fight Frieza. They know they must stop Frieza now or Earth will be destroyed. But they also know that they are no match for Frieza and cannot possibly win.
Unexpectedly a powerful stranger arrives whom challenges and defeats Frieza and his father King Cold. This stranger knows the exact time and place Goku will arrive and can incredibly go Super Saiyan at will.
When Goku arrives, the stranger reveals who he is and why he came to Earth. His name is Trunks. He is from the future. In his timeline, the Earth is being controlled by the evil Androids. He is the only good guy left and has no hope of defeating the Androids by himself. His last hope has been to travel back in time.
In Trunk's time, Goku had passed away from a heart virus. Trunks has traveled back in time to give him an antidote for the virus so that Goku can survive and help defeat the Androids. His task completed, Trunks goes back to his own timeline while the Z Fighters train for the appearance of the Androids in three years time.

ANDROIDS SAGA
The Special Forces of Earth assemble to wait for the arrival of the evil Androids predicted by Trunks. But the good guys don't know what the Androids look like, and they can't sense their power. They set off on foot to find them. Unlucky for Yamcha, he finds them first and gets firsthand knowledge of their mighty power (but he recovers with the help of a senzu bean).
There is a showdown between Saiyan and Android as Goku takes on Android 19. Goku's power exceeds anything that the Androids had anticipated. He seems to be winning the battle. He unleashes a mighty Kamehameha Wave. Unbeknownst to Goku, Android 19 is an energy-absorbing model. Instead of defeating him, this energy blast replenishes his energy. To make matters worse, the heart virus that Trunks had predicted chooses this time to attack Goku internally. Vegeta steps into the battle while the good guys whisk Goku home to give him the antidote for the heart virus.
In an amazing display of strength, unlike anything the Androids had anticipated, Super Saiyan Vegeta defeats Android 19. Vegeta puts up a convincing bluff and Android 20 runs. Meanwhile Vegeta eats senzu beans to recover and then sets out after Android 20 who is looking for ways to replenish his energy so he can defeat Vegeta.
Android 20 picks a fight with Piccolo, the next strongest guy after Vegeta, in an attempt to gain more energy. Trunks appears from the future and is surprised because these are not the same Androids that he encountered in his timeline. Something has happened.
Meanwhile, Android 20 realizes he has made several miscalculations: Piccolo is much stronger than he thought, Trunks has shown up unexpectedly, etc. His chances of survival are slim so he flees on foot…the harder to be traced. But Bulma has seen Android 20 and recognized him as Dr. Gero with a lab hidden in a cave just outside North City. The good guys set out to find the lab.
Krillin spots Dr. Gero and calls the rest of the team…but not before Dr. Gero has a chance to slip inside his lab and activate Androids 17 and 18.
These one-time disobedient Androids have been reprogrammed…yet they defy their creator. They destroy the remote control that has the power to deactivate them, disobey direct orders, eliminate Dr. Gero and activate Android 16… a prototype whose programming has not yet been completed.
Trunks realizes, much to his dismay, that Vegeta doesn't stand a chance against the Androids. Vegeta insists on fighting them. The Androids are confident of the battle, but Android 18 quickly discovers that Dr. Gero's information was wrong. Vegeta is stronger than they thought. Android 18 is letting Vegeta burn up his energy and will attack him when he is tired. Vegeta is no match for the unlimited power of Android 18. But Trunks jumps into the battle. In the end, Android 18 leaves Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien and Trunks bruised, battled and broken. And the Androids set out on their mission to find and destroy Goku.
Krillin gives his friends senzu beans as they discuss how strong the Androids are. Piccolo states, "Trunks is a Super Saiyan and it only took one punch from those Androids to take him out of the fight." This emphasizes the power of the Androids because Trunks was able to defeat the powerful Frieza single-handedly.
In an attempt to buy time, his friends move Goku to Master Roshi's hoping the Androids won't look for him there. Piccolo sets off on a secret mission to reunite with Kami and become a Super Namek. Even if Goku recovers from his illness, he will provide little resistance against these powerful new foes. In the combined form, Piccolo may be the only one strong enough to win the fight. But Kami is not convinced that the Androids intend to destroy Earth. He thinks there is something else wrong…something that he has missed.
Meanwhile Vegeta aspires to an even higher power. "I will ascend!…The universe will marvel to see the ultimate Saiyan potential once again realized." And the good guys make a puzzling findââ‚ÂÂÂÃ%C
